Beaufort County Seeks Public Input on Future Land Use and Growth

2040 Plan

Friday, September 4, 2026 2:59 PM

The County has opened a Land Use and Built Environment Public Input Survey form to gather input that will guide the Future Land Use Map and the Built Environment Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.

Beaufort County is undergoing a 5-year review of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. This critical document guides the County’s activities. Since its adoption in 2021, many of the Plan’s recommended action items have been completed. As a part of the 5-year review, the County wants to hear from you!

The form will be open until September 25th. Participants will be able to draw directly on maps to indicate areas where various types of land uses, like conservation or growth, are appropriate and provide input on how Built Environment Chapter action items should be prioritized. To participate, simply navigate to the form here. Instructions are provided. We look forward to hearing from you!
